Our role in industry committees and associations

Member of the Council of the Insurance Institute of London. The Institute is dedicated to "The cultivation of knowledge and information in all matters relating to the various branches of insurance"
Philip Hobbs: Deputy Chairman of the International Underwriting Association (IUA), the market organisation for non-Lloyd’s international and wholesale insurance and reinsurance companies operating in the London market.
Joe Dearsley: Deputy Chair of the Banks Underwriters’ Group (BUG), which represents insurance companies and markets (in both the Lloyd’s and company market) who currently underwrite financial institutions business. Joe will become Chair in 2021.
Matthew Hogg: Chair of the IUA Cyber Forum and Deputy Chair of the LMA’s Cyber Underwriting Business Panel. The Panel comprises 21 underwriting representatives from the Lloyd’s market who identify issues considered to be of interest or concern to LMA members, for discussion within the Panel and referral as appropriate to the relevant LMA Standing Committee and the LMA Executive.
Jaya Handa: Jaya chairs the LMA Data Protection Forum, Co-chairs the Insurance Privacy Leadership Association and is a Consultative Expert on Digital Ethics in Insurance at EIOPA.
Kirk Maddern: Director on the Board of the Placing Platform Limited. He has held this position since the Utility company was formed to drive adoption of e-trading in the Insurance market.
Jake Hickinbottom: Founder and Executive Chairman of the Next Generation Insurance Network (NGIN), which works with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, Lloyd’s, and other leading industry bodies in the London Insurance Market to create a platform for young insurance professionals where ideas can be shared, relationships forged and careers supported.
