Action Medical Research COVID-19 appeal
We further supported our London charity partner, Action Medical Research, by donating £10,000 towards their new research project which explores the long-term effects of COVID-19 in children. Our contribution will help to better understand why some children are more vulnerable than others and how the pandemic is affecting children’s mental health, now and in years to come.
Individual COVID-19 support
Our employees have donated their time and effort during the COVID-19 crisis by showing support on an individual level. The stories below demonstrate the remarkable support from some of our employees towards those most vulnerable.
I have been donating to local food bank and also phoning an elderly friend once a week who lost her husband recently - just to check she was ok and to have a little catch up.
Underwriter - Financial Lines
I have started buying a food package every month to donate to our local food bank. We are fortunate not to have that worry. So every month I make a point of buying a food package and delivering this to the food bank drive through.
Customer Relationship Manager
Throughout this Covid19 situation, I’ve been volunteering my time to sew scrubs for NHS workers and carers in the community across Newham. I’ve been on BBC Radio London to spread news of the cause and try and drum up some fundraising. Our team has gone from around 30 volunteers to in excess of 100!
