Samson was appointed Marine Risk Engineer, Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) in 20th February 2023. He is responsible for providing an array of risk engineering services to marine underwriters, the marine claims team and customers, including technical consultations, on-site surveys, project specification development, project/plan reviews, and services requiring ocean marine risk engineering expertise.
Samson joined Liberty in 2023 from Allianz Global Corporate Specialty SE (AGCS) where he was Senior Marine Risk Consultant for over seven years providing technical expertise and proactive risk management solutions across a wide range of Marine risks including Cargo, Project cargo, Hull & Machinery and ports risks.
He has over 28 years of experience in the maritime, logistics, insurance, and risk management industries. He also has experience in providing loss control services and coordinating global risk management initiatives for multitude of marine lines of business. Samson has more than 18 years of seagoing experience, including command experience. He served on-board cruise ships, container ships, bulk carriers, general cargo ships, Ro-Ro/passenger ferries, and high-speed craft.
Samson holds a Certificate of Competency as Master Mariner, unlimited issued by Maritime & Coastguard Agency.
He is also an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute.
