Biography
Melanie is Chief Underwriting Officer for Liberty Specialty Markets’ (LSM) Commercial pillar. She was promoted to the role in July 2020. Prior to this, she was Head of Professional Lines at LSM since 2016, responsible for professional indemnity/liability and strategic assets (which included both cyber and intellectual property liability) across the UK and Europe.
Melanie joined Liberty in 2003 from Brit Plc., where she was an underwriter, responsible for underwriting both primary and excess layer professional indemnity on a UK and international basis.
Prior to Brit, Melanie was a claims broker at Nelson Hurst & Marsh (now Lockton International).
Melanie has over 30 years of experience in insurance.
Melanie is ACII, Chartered Insurer, qualified.
