Charlotte Swan is an anatomical artist, graduating from Kingston School of Art in 2022. Her work includes digital drawings, sculptures, illustrations, printing on fabric and acetate. Currently, she is working on her own anatomical colouring book.

‘What does it mean for the body to go wrong?’

Swan is fascinated by how societies interpretation of this question varies. The theme of her work focuses on understanding how societies subconsciously psychoanalyse anatomy, through a sharing of interpretation.  

Anatomy has always driven Swan’s creativity, due to her interest of the structure of bones in correlation to muscle tissue, diseases, and facial features, exposing the hidden narrative lurking under our own skin. As a result, Swan’s work is more of an experience as it is an insight into everyone’s subconscious psychoanalysis of anatomy.
